Game 3, San Antonio. This was another must-win game for the Spurs who did so in fine fashion. S.A. rode their three stars to a 103-84 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. As I have said before, the Spurs need to score more inside and hit their threes to be successful. Rather than doing one of those things, they did both in this game. San Antonio hit 51% of their shots, but more importantly, made 10 of 18 three-point shots. For the first time in the series they weren't outscored in the paint, as they tied L.A. 36-36. San Antonio has to continue dominating from the three-point line and from the paint, in order to win this series (as well as play solid defense, which is a given for any team that wants to win). Manu Ginobili led the Spurs with a whopping 30 points (5-7 from behind the arc) while Tim Duncan scored 22 with 21 rebounds! Tony Parker also contributed 20 points. The Lakers, on the other hand, shot poorly from three-point range (6-17, 35%) and from the free-throw line (8-17, 47%). The only Lakers to score in double figures were Kobe Bryant, of course, with 30 points, Pau Gasol with 15 and Jordan Farmar with 10. Lamar Odom only scored 7 points, but had 11 rebounds. He was 2-11 from the field and 3-8 from the charity stripe. This series is going to go seven games I think. There are too many good coaches and players involved for it not to. Next: Game 4, Tuesday, San Antonio, 9 p.m. ET (TNT).
