NBA Playoffs, Pistons Edge Magic, Cleveland Gets Big Win

Saturday, May 10

Game 4 in Orlando, Florida. The Detroit Pistons came from behind to barely beat the Magic 90-89. That close of a loss had to hurt for the Magic. They now trail Detroit 3-1 in their best of seven series. The Pistons were lucky to get this one because they played without injured point guard Chauncey Billups. Detroit played tough defense against Dwight Howard and limited him to just 8 points and 12 rebounds on the night. The game went right down to the last seconds when Tayshaun Prince scored to put the Pistons up by one point. Hedo Turkoglu's shot at the buzzer didn't go in for the Magic. That's how close Orlando came to tying the series at 2-2! Richard Hamilton led all scorers with 32 points, while Turkoglu had 20 for the Magic. Next: Game 5, Detroit, Tuesday, TBA (TNT).

Game 3 in Cleveland, Ohio. The Cleveland Cavaliers got into the win column for the first time in their series by out playing Boston 108-84. LeBron James' shots still aren't falling (5-16) but he still scored 21 points, as did Delonte West. Kevin Garnett led the way for Boston with 17 points and 9 boards, but Allen and Pierce combined for 7-20 for only 24 points. The Cavs out shot Boston except at the free throw line. They also had more rebounds, blocked shots and assists than Boston. All this has to be encouraging to the Cavaliers, but they still have to win again at home to stay in the series. Boston leads the series 2-1. Next: Game 4, Cleveland, 8 p.m., ET (TNT).
